Characterful Weddings at The Lamb Tavern

Characterful Weddings at The Lamb Tavern

Packed with the charm and wholesome feel of a quintessential British pub, The Lamb Tavern weddings in the City of London will transport you back to the charismatic market  scenes of the 1800s. Since its establishment, the historic pub has been refurbished to enhance its quaint interior, whilst keeping all the period features in tact.

A real draw factor to The Lamb Tavern Weddings are their one of a kind setting in the awe inspiring Leadenhall Market. Located a short stroll from Monument, Bank and Liverpool Street stations, this original market hall feels a world away from the ultramodern skyscrapers that dot the surrounding area. Leadenhall Market features showstopping Victorian arches, cobbled walkways, hand painted crimson door fronts and soaring cream hued iron beams that emit a soft golden glow under the lamplight.

The infamous architect behind such a structure was Sir Horace Jones, a highly acclaimed designer who was also responsible for the majestic Tower Bridge and Old Billingsgate buildings. Luckily, Leadenhall Market survived through the Great Fire of London and continues to stand as a relic of bygone times. The Lamb Tavern a timeless setting for a charismatic central London wedding reception.

The Centre of The City Of London

The City of London has long been the historic financial centre of the capital, where the Stock Exchange and Bank of England both reside. As a result, some of the finest London architecture is found in this area, as well as the most contemporary high rise buildings in the city. Sky Garden is an apt example, just a short stroll away from the Lamb Tavern. On its top level, you can look out over the mesmerising bird’s eye view and walk around its jungle like interiors. The Gherkin and Lloyds of London are other spectacular modern works of engineering, that have formed part of the familiar urban skyline in the City of London. In contrast, the old world charm of The Ned continues to astound all who enter. This former bank has been restyled into an effortlessly stylish and contemporary members club, with multiple restaurants and jazz performances appearing in the central hall.

The Lamb Tavern weddings are perfect for those looking for a post-ceremony reception space in the City of London. The venue is not licensed to perform marriage ceremonies, but there are a wealth of options nearby to consider for your vows. Within a five minute walk, there are three equally beautiful and historic places of worship to organise your nuptial service: St Peter-Upon-Cornhill church is built in the style of Christopher Wren after the Great Fire of London; St Michael’s Cornhill is a medieval Parish church and St Edmund’s Church is an English baroque building. All of them offer a quiet space of refuge to meet your guests before the wedding reception at The Lamb Tavern in Leadenhall Market.
